Arndt is a Professor at the University of Rostock, Germany. He is a multi-entrepreneur in biotech, founder, and former CEO of several innovative biotech companies, including Nasdaq-listed company CENTOGENE. 

He received his MD in 1985 and was granted a tenure track professorship for clinical neurology in 1997 at the University of Rostock. In 2008, Arndt was appointed Director of the Albrecht-Kossel-Institute for Neuroregeneration at the University of Rostock. Arndt has initiated multiple international multicenter studies in genetic disorders with an extensive track record in medical and scientific publications.

Together with Prof. Dr. Huma Cheema, Children's Hospital, Lahore, one of our excellent and long-standing cooperation partners in Pakistan, we are organising a top-class symposium on March 26th, 2022, from 11 am to 2 pm in the garden of the Annemarie-Schimmel-Haus (ASH), German Cultural Centre, 155-A, Scotch Corner, Street #3، Upper Mall Scheme, Lahore, Punjab 54000, Pakistan.

Huma is a professor of Paediatric Gastroenterology-Hepatology & Nutrition. She is the former head of paediatric gastroenterology department at Children Hospital & Institute of Child Health Lahore. She has received her medical graduation in 1984 from the University of Punjab with distinction. In 1992, she completed MRCP-UK in Paediatrics from Royal College of Physicians, London, UK and Diplomat Pediatric Gastroenterology & Nutrition (DPGN) in 1995 from University of London, UK. 

She has served on various leadership roles such Chairperson of Pakistan Pediatric Association Gastroenterology-Hepatology and Nutrition group. She has been a principal investigator in clinical studies and has a number of publications to her name.

She is professor of paediatric neurology  & currently the head of paediatric neurology at Children Hospital and institute of child health, Multan. She is also the supervisor & examiner of Paediatric Neurology training Program. She joined  the department of Paediatric Neurology at Children's Hospital Multan back in 2005 and has published several publications the field of neurology. 

Having a wide experience in the field of neurology, she aims is to provide appropriate and standard care treatment to neurologically sick children and improve the health dynamics in Pakistan.

As a novelty, we have also invited well-known professional athletes to highlight the importance of genetics through their visibility and high profile, also to reach a wider audience through their role as "ambassadors of genomics". In addition, the participation of athletes underlines that "Genetics matters to everyone".

This event will simultaneously be streamed online via Zoom. The participation link will be provided after registration.
